What is Lean Production

Lean production (LP) is a management science derived from Toyota production mode (TPS).

Lean production is to manufacture in time, eliminate faults, eliminate all waste, and realize zero defects and zero inventory. It was proposed by Massachusetts Institute of technology in a research project called "International Automobile program". After doing a lot of investigation and comparison, they believe that the production mode of Toyota Motor Company in Japan is the most suitable production organization and management mode for modern manufacturing enterprises, which is called lean production, in order to deal with the disadvantages of excessive bloated mass production mode (Industrial Engineering IE) in the United States. Lean production combines the advantages of mass production and one-piece production, and strives to achieve low-cost production of multiple varieties and high-quality products in mass production.

Significant progress has been made in intelligent manufacturing of rubber industry

Intelligent manufacturing is one of the ten strategies put forward by the "Research on the development strategy of China's rubber industry power". Based on informatization, intelligent manufacturing represented by robots has begun to receive widespread attention in the rubber industry. China Rubber Association has proposed to implement 10 automatic production lines for intelligent manufacturing in the rubber industry, and significant progress has been made. Under the guidance of the development strategy of becoming a powerful country in China's rubber industry, intelligent manufacturing, a new development model, has attracted great attention from the industry and has become an effective driver for promoting the transformation and upgrading of the rubber industry.

Different understandings about intelligent manufacturing

This new development mode of manufacturing has been highly concerned by the rubber industry. Some entrepreneurs with strategic vision have made some important explorations and practices, and have also made great achievements. However, there are some different understandings in the implementation process. They believe that most enterprises in China's rubber industry have not implemented lean production, and 2.0 and 3.0 have not been achieved, so it is impossible to implement 4.0, let alone intelligent manufacturing. Now the implementation of intelligent manufacturing is divorced from reality and ahead of schedule. This understanding has brought great confusion to enterprises and affected the transformation and upgrading of the rubber industry and the construction of a powerful rubber industry.

Internationally, some experts believe that the future development direction of manufacturing industry is intelligent manufacturing, and lean production is out of date.
